Shred Out Privacy Policy

Effective date:

This policy explains what information we collect when you play the Shred Out game (the "game") or visit shredout.com (together, the "services"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Shred Out is developed and operated by Alena Sütcü, an individual developer based in Türkiye ("we", "us"), who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@shredout.com.

2. What we collect

We collect information automatically when you use the services, and information you choose to give us:

  • Device and advertising identifiers: for example your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking; on Android, the advertising ID), the identifier for vendors on iPhone and iPad, and IDs that our service providers create for your installation.
  • User and player IDs: for example a random player ID the game creates for you.
  • IP address and approximate location: your IP address, and the approximate location (such as country, region or city) worked out from it.
  • Device information: for example the device model, operating system, language and mobile network.
  • Gameplay, progress and purchase data: for example levels played, won and lost, time played, items earned and spent, events you take part in, and purchases.
  • Install and advertising data: for example which ad or campaign led you to install the game.
  • Crash and diagnostics data: for example error reports, performance data and the state of the game when an error happens.
  • Messages you send us: your email address and what you write to us.

Some of this stays on your device, such as your progress and settings. If we add features such as accounts, leaderboards, purchases or ads, we may collect the information they need, such as an account ID, a display name, scores, purchase records or ad interactions.

Our website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it does not use cookies.

3. How we use it

We use this information:

  • to provide, maintain and improve the game, for example to balance levels and fix errors;
  • for analytics, to understand how the game is played;
  • to measure and improve our advertising, and for advertising;
  • to keep the services secure and to prevent fraud;
  • to answer your messages and provide support;
  • to comply with the law, enforce our terms, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We process information on the basis of our legitimate interests in running and growing the game, to perform our terms with you, to meet legal obligations, and with your permission where it is required, such as Apple's tracking prompt.

4. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that work for us, such as analytics, attribution, crash reporting and hosting providers. Today they include AppsFlyer (attribution), Mixpanel (analytics), Sentry (error reports) and Cloudflare (hosting, our server and email routing).
  • Advertising partners: we advertise on Meta's platforms (Facebook and Instagram), and AppsFlyer shares install and in-game event data, including advertising identifiers, with Meta to measure and improve our ads. Meta uses it under its own privacy policy.
  • Apple and Google, which distribute the game and give us statistics about it.
  • Others where needed: authorities when the law requires it, our professional advisers, and a buyer if the game is sold or transferred.

If Shred Out or its assets are sold, transferred or merged, the information we hold may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. International transfers

We and our service providers process information in Türkiye, the European Union, the United States and other countries, and your information is transferred abroad in accordance with applicable law, including Article 9 of Türkiye's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data.

6. How long we keep it

We keep information as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires.

7. Your choices

  • In the game: Settings > Privacy has switches for Analytics and crash reports, Ad measurement and Basic statistics. For residents of US states with privacy laws, turning off Ad measurement is your "Do Not Sell or Share" choice.
  • Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings.
  • iPhone and iPad: you can choose whether to allow tracking in Apple's prompt, and change it at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Settings > Privacy > Email a privacy request opens an email with the IDs we need to find your information. You may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
